Water powered devices (Dec 26 2005 12:47 GMT) - I love these water powered calculators and clocks from Think Geek because I hate buying batteries and get really annoyed when my solar calculator barely works in low light situations (yeah I know, why don't I just move to a better lit room - but that would be too easy). The round clock above is multifunctional with additional alarm, timer and thermometer modes. Just rotate the clock 90 degrees to go from mode to mode. The calculator is a fully functioning calculator with large keys and a 12-digit display. The water clock below even has a place to hold flowers. |

Christmas, carols and a unique Indian Christianity (Dec 26 2005 12:46 GMT) - From the Hindustan Times: Christianity came to India much before it went to the West, perhaps a reason why India's 25 million Christians prefer to be catholic in faith, oriental in worship and Indian in culture. It has been a two-way process - a process of osmosis where Christianity has over the centuries become an indelible part of Indian plurality. |

Playoffs but no payoffs for locals (Dec 26 2005 12:46 GMT) - Rafael Palmeiro defiantly waved an index finger at the politicians, his emphatic way of denying use of performance-enhancing substances, and oh, how silly he looked when suspended a few months later for a failed drug test. Not Authorized By Law (Dec 26 2005 12:45 GMT) - I've been looking for independent (non-partisan) and knowledgeable information on the Bush wiretapping scandal. I have found several, but this sums it up nicely, and it was authored by a Law Professor who was once a JAGC. Here's a short bio: Jordan Paust is the Mike & Teresa Baker Law Center Professor at the University of Houston and a former Captain, U. |
