Salt Lake Tribune News Quiz (Dec 30 2005 21:56 GMT) - I scored 105 or 125 on the Tribune News Trivia Quiz. I took the Salt Lake Tribune's News Trivia Quiz and scored 105 out 125. That qualifies me as an official news junkie. I missed questions about entertainment--the one thing that doesn't interest me much. Try it and see how you do. |

Homeschooling: Successful and Expanding (Dec 30 2005 21:55 GMT) - I’ve noticed a bit of discussion lately in a few of the local Wisconsin blogs on home schooling, and thought I’d throw in my two cents. I had the great opportunity, along with my three siblings, to be homeschooled. None of us would give up that blessing for the world. |

Qu15 (u570d137 1p505 cu570d35 (Dec 30 2005 21:55 GMT) - Wired has a fun story about an Austrian hacker group called Quintessenz that found various ways to mess with their country's closed-circuit surveillance cameras. Partly they were just blinding the cameras various ways, but more interesting is that the group found a way to intercept and decrypt the video signals—bringing to mind David Brin's (increasingly prescient-seeming) Transparent Society. |
