New Orleans After Katrina (Dec 31 2005 03:39 GMT) - The sign on the tree reads, "This is our home. We live here. Not a tourist attraction." I will be the first to admit, riding along with my camera, that the area has turned into Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey. There are very few residents even capable of returning to their homes. |

4 months after Katrina (Dec 31 2005 03:39 GMT) - This used to be a middle class neighborhood. Now it's filled with so much mud, you would think that the street was a dirt road. Boats are everywhere on the curbs and in yards, cars are in trees and the entire view is utter destruction. |

The entire neighborhood resembles this one photo. Only the wealthier neighborhoods have been cleaned up and have some semblance of city utilities. This neighborhood is really uninhabitable. |

The agency that could be big brother (Dec 31 2005 03:39 GMT) - DEEP in a remote, fog-layered hollow near Sugar Grove, W.Va., hidden by fortress-like mountains, sits the country's largest eavesdropping bug. Located in a "radio quiet" zone, the station's large parabolic dishes secretly and silently sweep in millions of private telephone calls and e-mail messages an hour. You drive down in the water and then come out on the other side. Truly a marvelous piece of engineering! This bridge is between Sweden and Denmark. |
