Our Friends at the RIAA (Dec 31 2005 06:51 GMT) - Just lovely - it turns out that the RIAA is asking for perjury in order to win cases: This is a 15-year-old girl, telling the story of how lawyers of a major industry group told her she had to commit perjury, just so they could win their case. Some might call that racketeering, and it's most certainly a highly illegal way to win a court case. The deposition strongly suggests that the RIAA knew they didn't have a leg to stand on, and that they were perfectly happy to do anything in their power to win anyway. Funny how rather than open their own wallets to settle, they prefer breaking the law themselves. |

Top Ten Most Revolutionary Action Movies of All Time (Dec 31 2005 06:51 GMT) - 10. The General (1927) Buster Keaton's "The General" may seem like an odd choice, but it IS in fact, an action movie, far more than it is a comedy or slapstick. It's a incredibly suspenseful action thriller, and one of Keaton's best films. 9. Seven Samurai (1954) Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" raised the bar for action epics, creating a standard that would hardly be dented until Sergio Leone's Westerns of the late 60's. |

New Era (Dec 31 2005 06:46 GMT) - I've managed to write an entirely new content management system in the time it's taken to get my web sites back online. By which I mean, not back online, since they still aren't. (This may be Ben's way of telling me to get my own box after all these years, or it may just be laziness, I'm not sure.) |
