Vasquez, had been shown to be a cronic liar, had both Colombian and Venezuelan nationality (even voted!), claimed to be a medical doctor which he was not, had been arrested in both countries and was the only witness and "proof" that involved those currently in jail for the being behind the Anderson assasination.
