Helpline Comment (35762) (Feb 14 2006 23:28 GMT) - Hiya all, I have a Sony floppy drive froma compaq system, sony part number MPF420-4, that has jumpers on it in the following config: 110 001 011 010 110 I need to see if this drive can be set to 720k (it's a 1.44) and what the other jumpers do. I'm gonna fit this thing into an atari sf354 drive case to be my new fdd. I looked around, and there's a manual for it out there somewhere. |

Marc Canter - Ruckus is now - free - Marc's Voice (Feb 14 2006 23:27 GMT) - Well isn't this interesting. According to this report, Ruckus - the music downloading network marketed to university campuses at $3 per month per student - is now free. Marc Canter observes, "I guess the record labels and publishers feel that this money is free money - and that these kids would just go steal the music anyway." Well, that or listen to it for free on the radio, like they've always done. Back in the days before 'free' meant 'theft'. |
