More letters (Feb 28 2006 18:16 GMT) - My guy, John Kerry, a decorated Vietnam veteran, did not make it to the White House in 2004 so this letter is to ask a small favor of those who I then saw sporting "Vets for Bush" bumper stickers. Since their guy is now president, and what they now ask of the Pentagon and White House might hold some sway, would they please contact George W. Bush's office and ask that the sneaky plan to triple the cost of veterans' insurance premiums be canceled? |

Putting elephants' welfare above other interests is right thing to do (Feb 28 2006 18:16 GMT) - What's best for Connie and Shaba? This is the primary question we should ask. More than 4,000 Tucson residents and zoo patrons have signed petitions urging the City Council to transfer the elephants at the Reid Park Zoo to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee where they will have free access to hundreds of acres of natural habitat. |

2006 Oscar Predictions (Feb 28 2006 18:16 GMT) - The 2006 Academy Awards are just around the corner and just like many people, I'm going to give my predictions on who will win the golden statuettes. My predictions for the 2006 Grammys didn't turn out so well but I'm hoping I'll do better this time around. However, there is one thing that may work against me... I have not seen most of the performances or films nominated. I probably won't get the opportunity to see these films until after the Oscars are already handed out. |
