BSG: Rocks (Mar 05 2006 01:54 GMT) - I didn't write anything last night because I wasn't feeling all that well and I wanted to hit the rack. Probably just needed some sleep, because I was fine today. That said, I don't have a lot to say tonight, mostly because it was just the first half of the episode. But it was pretty damn good. I'll reserve judgment on whether it's on a par with the other "best" episodes, but it's looking good. |

Theater Review: The Exonerated (Mar 05 2006 01:51 GMT) - I would really like to be able to recommend The Exonerated, a new production of which has just opened at The Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, west London. Its politics are exemplary, the stories -- told in their own words -- of the six Americans who spent between two and 20 years on death row for crimes they were subsequently proven not to have committed, are appropriately harrowing and uplifting. As an evening of politics, it can't be faulted. As an evening at the theatre, however, it has a number of problems. Chief among these is the fact that here in Britain, this is a production that will cater chiefly to the already converted. |

Refurbishing the Architecture of Days Gone By (Mar 05 2006 01:46 GMT) - We have a building in our town that has served several uses over the many years it has stood. It was the courthouse and jail in its early years. It's been a fine restaurant a few times and a loud tavern too many times. It is now going through another phase of its history. It is in the process of becoming a fine restaurant with live jazz and blues music. |

DVD Review: Traffic - The Last Great Traffic Jam (Mar 05 2006 01:44 GMT) - Watching Steve Winwood's Traffic-loaded Soundstage performance from last summer really had me primed for this much delayed DVD release of his old band's final tour. The Last Great Traffic Jam is a documentary of Traffic's 1994 U.S. tour and features original members Winwood and Jim Capaldi joined by Randall Bramblett (woodwinds, keys), Walfredo Reyes Jr. (percussion, drums), Mike McEvoy (guitar, keys), and one-time Traffic bassist Rosko Gee, who had played on their final album When The Eagle Flies. |
