Cookies Are Yummy (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - In case you didn't know, chocolate chip cookies are yummy. Max and I made a double batch while Brian was pretending to take a nap (he serenaded us over the baby monitor with babble-singing, then whining, then crying). They turned out really well. The keys? Use the Toll House recipe Mix the sugar and brown sugar before adding the butter and then break up any clumps before adding the butter. |

Obvious much? (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - HA: Les Moonves actually called Dawn Ostroff yesterday and asked "why the upswing on Veronica [Mars]?" She said, "Well, we did give it a bunch more promotion." |

Veronica Mars (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - Veronica Mars scored its second highest ratings ever with last night's mystery finale. YAY! For those who missed the beginning of the arc, or those who are just now deciding to watch the awesomeness that is Veronica Mars, the season opener is being shown next week (Tuesdays, The CW at 9pm EST). I think most of the first mystery's arc will be replayed, which will be a great time to look for clues for the second mystery which was introduced last night. Wheeee. |

Sci-Fi Resurgent (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - I was never that into science fiction. I don't read sci-fi books, comics or get into sci-fi games. But, ever since the new Battlestar Galactica and Doctor Who started a couple years ago (has it been that long?), I've been hooked. Here's what I'm hooked on and why: |

Couch potato-ness (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - My beloved love seat found a nice new home. YAY! Kevin described the couple as very happy and young, which automatically makes me feel old. I spent all weekend shopping, though I didn't get very far on my list. Note to self: |

Wishful Thanking (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - Thanksgiving was great. Max and I went over to my parents' early to help out. I spent the morning stuffing a turkey, chopping veggies and eating (you have to pre-eat on Turkey Day or you get full too early). We watched Over the Hedge and Cars with the kids, played games, and had a good time. We even talked about politics without yelling. |

TV and stuff (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I have pies to bake, so let's make this quick, ok? Heroes: The confrontation was anti-climatic. Claire basically ran away and didn't need anyone to protect her after all. Huh. |

Embarrassing Confession (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - While watching the latest Supernatural, I screamed after a "startling" horror trope and then after I got over the startle-factor and saw the content, I screamed AGAIN out of sheer FRIGHT. I very quickly decided it would be very smart to tuck my feet under my legs instead of letting them hang off the end of the recliner, where any old thing could grab them. Heh. Seriously, watching this show in the dark, in the basement, on a large screen tv, all by myself is awesome and the only way to watch Supernatural. Wheeeeee. |

Ooooh, man (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - I soooo owe Kevin a huge apology. He tried to get me into The Office, the US version and I just wasn't having it. But then I actually started watching it and the show is amazing and so freakin' funny. It took me a couple of episodes to get a feel for the rhythm and flow of the show, but now I am totally in love. If you haven't checked it out, you really should. |

Bye, Jason (Dec 02 2006 22:34 GMT) - It's not as if 99.999% of the world cares, but Jason Calacanis is leaving AOL, and I can't say I'm upset in the least about it. He's a voracious self-promoter and polarizing force. Everything he says has to be viewed through the "how does this make Jason look better" lens. He somehow became the "voice of AOL" in Silicon Valley, and that always bothered me. |
