Saudi women can sell cars but can't drive them (Dec 05 2006 19:56 GMT) - Beirut, Riyadh - Saudi women still are not allowed to drive cars, but they can sell them. Potential buyers can go to an all-women showroom where, for the first time, other women will help them choose a car and answer questions about horsepower, carburetors and other automotive features. But don’t ask for a test drive- neither the saleswomen nor the female buyers can take the car out for a test drive because women are banned from driving in Saudi Arabia — even though they have been allowed to own cars for decades and hire male drivers. Almost half the cars on the road belong to women. The seven female saleswomen at the spacious showroom insist they aren't pushing for female driving but only providing comfort for women who want to buy cars and don't like to go to dealerships run by men. |

Accolades For Lincoln U. Hoops Continue To Roll In (Dec 05 2006 19:52 GMT) - On Saturday night, Lincoln University -- a Division III school located in scenic Chester County -- defeated Ohio State-Marion 201-78 while pressing the entire game. One player, Sami Wylie, shot 44 times in 24 minutes, which is no surprise since his favorite book is by Terrell Owens. While the Lincoln players are probably still flexing their muscles about what big men they are, the NCAA's official blog has already chastized the team for, aside from pressing the entire game, taking more shots in the second half than they did in the first, despite being up 97-44 at half. Of course, fair's fair, and since I'm fairly sure I called Lincoln coach Garfield Yuille an asshole yesterday -- and if I didn't, I'll do it now: He's an asshole -- let's take a look at Ohio State-Marion's basketball team: |
