Whoosh (Dec 07 2006 23:53 GMT) - Another quick California trip yesterday, left Seattle at 6:40am in the pouring rain (it's amazing how much water those engines can ingest and continue to run), ran all over sunny, 80º LA and Orange counties, left SNA at 4pm, got home at about 8pm in the pouring rain. Been playing our Wii a bunch lately. At least in my family, Nintendo's bet that the control scheme will rope in players who don't normally play video games (read: women and old folks) seems to be a good one. |

Wham Bang (Dec 07 2006 23:53 GMT) - Just finished Gears on the easiest difficulty. Forewarned, I now embark on Hardcore mode, wherein I hope to kill more Locusts and make lots of grunty noises. I'm a freak (Dec 07 2006 23:53 GMT) - Without even realizing it, I've managed to become a complete 360 freak loser. Besides Gears, I've got Prey and Rockstar's Table Tennis sitting there unplayed, and tonight I impulsively bought Call of Duty 3 as well as one of those ass-kickin' Wireless Headsets. I'm not even sure why I bought the latter - it's not like the cord on the standard headset is constricting or something. I just couldn't help it. I have a problem! |

Oh yes. Ohhhh, yes. (Dec 07 2006 23:53 GMT) - Gears is great. Just pick whichever expletives and expressions of adoration you like, and substitute them for the word "great", and you'll have some idea what I mean. There's such a feeling of weight and inertia and presence in the game. It's just... great. |

Emergence Day, hell (Dec 07 2006 23:53 GMT) - I have Gears of War sitting next to me, keeping me warm with it's tender presence. Presumably, you don't, else you wouldn't be reading this. There's a fallacy in that last sentence but I can't quite figure out what it is. Vegas was great, Dave & Tim were great, I collected like 1000 hooker trading cards. Yay for the Democrats, or rather, to the Republicans, HA HA. |
