Music DVD Review: Slipknot - Voliminal: Inside the Nine (Dec 10 2006 18:35 GMT) - Slipknot has had an interesting journey, a journey that I am not terribly familiar with, outside of the fact that their music keeps getting better. I remember many moons ago when I first picked up that CD with the word "Slipknot" emblazoned across it with those nine guys in masks posing on the cover. I thought it was a decent album, but I quickly moved onto their masked competition, Mushroomhead. |

Music Review: The Zutons - "It's The Little Things We Do" (Dec 10 2006 18:34 GMT) - What would it take for The Zutons to break into the mainstream? My guess is, not much. However, since mainstream usually means breaking into the American market (at the very least the college charts), it is even money. The Zutons have made themselves present in the alternative scene since 2001, where they have carved a niche as an accomplished indie/soul kind of band. |

Microsoft Makes a Basic Mistake with Office 2007 (Dec 10 2006 18:33 GMT) - "Microsoft Office isn't among the apps that will run natively on Intel-based Macs - and it won't be until the latter half of 2007, according to media reports. But when it does ship, Office will apparently be missing a feature so vital to cross-platform compatibility that I believe it will be the beginning of the end for the Mac version of the productivity suite." |

The Iraq Study Group Report = Vietnamization (Dec 10 2006 18:26 GMT) - Having had a chance to both read the report of the Iraq Study Group and listen to the authors defend and explain it, it is now very clear exactly what they are proposing. The gist of the report is that they're suggesting the modern equivalent of Vietnamization for Iraq. I suppose this should be called Iraqization, but that sounds strange and lacks the reminder of the prior use of the same policy, so let's stick with calling it Vietnamization. |
