North American Battery Company and Uniross Introduce Award-Winning "HYBRIO by Ultralast" New Technology Batteries (Dec 10 2006 23:54 GMT) - The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA®) has recognized Uniross subsidiary North American Battery Company (NABC) as an International CES Innovations 2007 Design and Engineering Awards recipient for its HYBRIO new technology batteries. Like disposables, HYBRIO batteries are ready-to-use immediately out of the package -- unlike traditional rechargeable batteries which need to be charged before the first use. However, unlike disposables, HYBRIO batteries can be recharged up to 500 times, integrating for the first time the money saving benefits of rechargeable batteries with the immediate use benefits of disposables. |

Literacy Volunteer Receives Presidential Honors (Dec 10 2006 23:54 GMT) - Ruth Johnson Colvin is one of 10 people who will be honored this coming week with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Colvin dedicated her life to literacy in 1962 when she discovered that more than 11,000 people in her hometown of Syracuse, N.Y., functionally couldn't read. It led her to create Literacy Volunteers or America which today has more than 125 affiliates. |
