Stichting Varkens in Nood blij met toezegging controle op veemarkten en slachterijen (Dec 13 2006 10:01 GMT) - Minister Veerman heeft vandaag toegezegd de Algemene Inspectiedienst AID in 2007 met vijftien voltijdbanen te versterken, om beter toezicht te kunnen houden op veemarkten en slachterijen. Stichting Varkens in Nood / stichting Dierenrecht Nederland zijn zeer verheugd over dit besluit. Het undercover onderzoek naar dierenmishandeling op de veemarkten in Utrecht en Leeuwarden én de hoorzitting van 25 oktober jl. over de misstanden in de slachterijen hebben hiermee concreet resultaat opgeleverd. In augustus bracht de Stichting Dierenrecht Nederland undercover beelden naar buiten, gemaakt op de veemarkten in Utrecht en Leeuwarden, waarop veelvuldige dierenmishandeling te zien was. |
