Vonage VoIP - Vonage help in Bangalore India (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - Govt moves to cut off phoneys in Net telephony NEW DELHI: After blogs and websites, the government is planning a clampdown on BPOs and KPOs over, what it feels is, illegal use of internet telephony. It is giving final touches to a proposal under which ITeS companies must furnish the names of authorised service providers from whom bandwidth and internet telephony minutes have been taken. The companies will also have to give an undertaking that they will not use the services of unlicensed foreign service providers such as Net2Phone, Vonage, Dialpad, Impetus, Novanet, Euros, Skype and Yahoo. As per Department of Telecommunications’ |

Vonage VoIP - IP8100-1 expandable with multiple handsets? (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - I bought the IP8100-1 from vonage and was wondering if it is expandable with multiple handsets, and if so, how many? Is the 8100-1 and 8100-2 the same phone just the -2 comes with an extra handset instead of having to purchase them separate? |

Vonage VoIP - Vonage via wireless 3G cellular service (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - I found a box that can do stuff like the KR1 (WiFi and Lan, along with a PC card slot), but it's also got two phone ports that can handle VoIP. I guess since it's SIP it must be able to do Vonage as well. It says that they got support for HSDPA and other stuff, so it ought to work just fine over here. It's called the DOVADO Wireless Residential Gateway (WRG). They keep a list of supported card on http: |

Vonage VoIP - Verizon Fios and ActionTec Mi424 WR Router Problem (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - They have NOT explained why - BUT here is how they get out of it. They told me "Don't download when you are planning to use the phone" ! Well that's impossible because I am always pretty much downloading and that was never a problem before when the Vonage modem was set 1st in the chain. |

Vonage VoIP - Dlink VTA - No Network Connectivity (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - Just called Vonage tech support. Spent a good hour troubleshooting including switching power sources. No luck - seems like the Dlink VTA just died peacefully. Vonage will be sending me a replacement and my old one will be buried somewhere. Would a surge from a phoneline cause the ethernet port to fail? |

Vonage VoIP - Switch/hub ports stop working on RTP300 (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - Hi, guys - I've done some searching and can't find this issue in the forums already. A few days ago, the "ETHERNET" lights on my RTP300 began to just go out, and both my computers will report their Ethernet cables have been disconnected. I'll repeat for you what I told Vonage: |

Vonage VoIP - Who is that girl in the Vonage ad to the left of every page (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - Looks vaguely like Katee Sackhoff, the woman who plays Starbuck in the new Battlestar Galactica series. But somehow I doubt it is her. It's probably someone who works for Vonage. A company I worked for used to ask employees to volunteer to have their pictures used in adverts. They never picked me, but they probably didn't want to scare the customers away. |

Vonage VoIP - Any Phone Adapters That Can Be Put *Before* a Router? (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - Thanks. I actually thought about just hooking the WRTP54G to my WRT54GS, but figured why pay extra for a router I'm not using. After the sign-up rebate, a PA will not cost me anything. A good point. In my case, I already HAD the WRTP54G, and gave up on it as a router because it was not working for me. |

Vonage VoIP - best WRT54G firmware? (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - the real beauty of Tomato, and what "sold" me on it, was the QoS monitoring. The ability to actually see each packet and how the QoS engine classified it is worth its weight in gold. But it's also FAST. |

Vonage VoIP - best WRT54G firmware? (Dec 13 2006 10:28 GMT) - I've been using Linksys routers for years and have always loved them. I just switched to the Thibor firmware as well and agree that it's excellent. It just makes a great product even better - and it's free (as opposed to Sveasoft "subscription nonsense" firmware). |
