Washington Post Poll and Cato Institute Report (Dec 13 2006 21:25 GMT) - As my biography notes, I am presently researching the alleged chilling effect of post-9/11 government security measures on the use of technology, principally the Internet, by Muslim-Americans. I intend to use my blog as a means to discuss relevant reports and news articles, and to update interested individuals on my research progress and results. That said, I'd like to bring your attention to two interesting items that I came across today. The first is an article on a Washington Post-ABC News poll released yesterday. Microsoft addresses wireless 360 headset issues (Dec 13 2006 21:25 GMT) - Filed under: Microsoft Xbox 360, PeripheralsIn response to complaints, Microsoft's Xbox Accessories team has publicly invited Xbox 360 Wireless Headset users to contact customer support if they have experienced problems with their voice-chat product. Geez, thanks for the PSA.It's curious that Microsoft would post this official invitation on its Gamerscore Blog, as it seems only to suggest that issues are more widespread than generally assumed. That is, as a consumer, if your headset is defective, the obvious reaction is to contact customer support, which (according to Microsoft) will replace or repair the unit. |

Vince's Co-Ed Speaks Out Against False Tabloids (Dec 13 2006 21:25 GMT) - We admit it, there are some days that we don't exactly feel good about what we do. It can be a little bit repugnant to spend our days raking all this muck! And so you can imagine how we felt when we read this impassioned cri de couer from Mal Lane, the college student who had no idea that posting about everything-butting Vince Vaughn on her blog and sending an email with the juicy deets to all of her sorority sisters would result in instant internet infamy: I stand by the belief that while I may have made an error in judgment, I did nothing to deliberately hurt anyone, and acted as many young women in my position would. I spent time with a person of celebrity status, and chose to share it with a few close friends. |

PS2, PS1 480i games hampered by crazy jaggies on the PS3 (Dec 13 2006 21:20 GMT) - Filed under: Gaming, HDTV When we heard the PS3 was going to feature a whole PS2 chipset for the sake of backwards compatibility, we didn't think it would suck so much. Beyond the games that are straight-up freezing or glitching out on the new box -- for which Sony is promising a patch -- the PS3 seems to be having heaps of trouble with 480i games in particular. In a sort of "double your jaggies" scenario, that's sure to leave fans of classic PlayStation titles delighted, the PS3's upscaling method for the low-res titles introduces all sorts of "jaggies" and artifacts into the image, as can be seen above in a splitscreen comparison between the PS3 and PS2 in Final Fantasy X. Some speculate that the PS3 lacks the necessary upscaling hardware, making a firmware update impossible for now, but we're hoping that somewhere in that heap of PS3 horsepower, Sony can find a way restore that beautiful shimmer to Tidus' hair. |

Kinky_lesbiansweetheart: Gracie's Little World (Dec 13 2006 21:20 GMT) - Hello EveryoneI am sitting here in contemplation- after I did my no more java dance but before I go exercising and forget this- about how many people I have actually corrupted in the past two years. Now all of the time I hear that I have corrupted people in certain things. Although I am willing on taking full blame for some of them- I do have some friends that may or may not be better off if they didn't know AS much about me- Some corruption is something you pick up along the way and put it in your pocket (or shoe) like a pebble found on the beach.A recent example of this is a drive that i had back up to campus sunday night with a good christian friend after a church christmas party I was invited to. We were talking about some papers that I may or may not of written for a few professors freshmen year that could be considered controversal. |
