Black Motorola Q: Improved, or Just More Expensive? (Dec 14 2006 00:40 GMT) - While the only visible difference between the black Motorola Q, and the $50 cheaper regular Motorola Q is the coat of paint, there are actually various improvements on the inside as well. There's improved power management that gives you longer battery life, Bluetooth headset volume control, email client fixes, and a rubberized grip for less slippage. Seeing as it's only $50, and the black does look better than the silver, we'd recommend this improved one over the original. But you knew we would say that. – |

He got us into the war, and all the reasons he gave have been proven invalid, and the whole electorate was so pissed off that they got rid of anyone they could have, and then they ask, 'What is the Democrats' solution?'" -- Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY), quoted by the New York Observer, when asked what the Democrats should do about Iraq. |

Layoffs at AOL headquarters (Dec 14 2006 00:36 GMT) - About 450 workers at the Dulles headquarters of AOL were laid off Wednesday as the company continues restructuring away from its traditional roots as a subscription-based provider of dial-up Internet access. AOL announced in August that it planned to cut about 5,000 jobs -- or roughly a fourth of its global workforce -- as it embarked on major changes designed to shift the company's revenue stream from subscription fees to online advertising. Many of AOL's key features, like e-mail accounts, are now available for free. AOL spokesman Andrew Weinstein said Wednesday's layoffs essentially represent the final round of job cuts. |
