Product Recall: "See Kai Run" Brand Children's Boots (Dec 14 2006 09:55 GMT) - Filed under: Gear, Health and Safety, Baby clothes, WalkingSee Kai Run, of Woodinville, Washington, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is voluntarily recalling their "Ellis" children's boots. The metal snaps on the side of the boots can come off and are a choking hazard. The manufacturer has received one report of a child starting to choke on one of the snaps.The boots being recalled are the "Ellis" model in pre-walk and toddler sizes 3 through 9. |

California scientists unveil new way to make organic transistors (Dec 14 2006 09:42 GMT) - Filed under: Misc. GadgetsOur visions of cheap electronic paper may finally come to fruition, if scientists at Stanford University and the University of California, Los Angeles have their way. A joint team from the two universities just published a paper in the journal Nature, which outlines a new technique for mass producing single-crystal organic transistors (previously, the transistors had to be made by hand). According to the researchers, they can print transistors on silicon wafers and flexible plastic, meaning that soon it may be possible to print external inexpensive sensors for commercial products like future generations of LCDs. |
