- Who is your internet provider? You mentioned Primus, if so I don't think it will work properly, because I had Primus as my internet provider and they told me I would have to go to cable to use their voip service. I am using cable internet and vtech phones with 3 handsets, 1 plugs into the vonage adapter and the other 2 phones don't have phone cords I just plug the power adapters in the wall, this eliminates having to wire the house. |

- Assuming that you can't access the internet, does your DSL service require any special setups- password, PPPoe, that sort of thing? The VT2142 is set up by default to handle everything by DHCP on both the LAN and WAN side. The settings often have to be changed to be compatible with DSL. Basically, the idea is then to make the WAN side of the VT2142 compatible with the required DSL settings, and make your computer compatible with the LAN side settings of the VT2142. If that's your situation, start by looking at the network settings on a computer that's working OK with your service. |

- Did some research today on the Linksys third party software. Quite interesting. I like the GPL/Linux angle. I'm kinda thinking about the wireless Linksys using DD-WRT. As you said, I can always disable the Wireless when the N stuff goes final. |
