Vonage VoIP - No Dialtone in China (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - I did find a Vonage user here that has a working set (so the service does work), I've determined my modem was damaged somehow and I'll have to have it replaced the next time I go back to the US. |

Vonage VoIP - Two accounts on one IP (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - Wonderful! Should there be any sort of port forwarding necessary or can I just plug everything in and go? With luck, it should be plug and go (famous last words). Port forwarding is not normally necessary. Of course, you'll want to make sure that their DSL is giving them enough bandwidth to support two Vonage lines. |

Vonage VoIP - International Rates (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - 0.12 for Mexican cellular - thanks for the info. I haven't had to call since I got vonage, but am glad you posted the amount (I thought that with the new caller-pays system there that the cell phone rates would be higher - just wasn't sure how much higher they'd be).Thank you!!! You illustrate my point exactly. |

Vonage VoIP - Punished for having Vonage (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - Everyone does not assume that calls within an area code are local... our area code covers roughly 70 miles and two TelCos, so I know certain areas are and are not long distance. First of all Vonage asked me for all necessary info that I could provide them and they assigned me a number based on that. |

Vonage VoIP - Two accounts on one IP (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - You should be able to do this. Leave the downstairs connections wired, as they are now. Use a wireless access point upstairs to connect through the WRT54G, and hook a Vonage router/adapter to it to service the upstairs phone and computer. |

Vonage VoIP - Using PAP2 in India (230V) (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - Hi, I have brought a Linksys PAP2 adapter to use Vonage from India. But I might have ended up frying its power adapter. Is it possible to get another (local) ac/dc power adapter for the required specifications (12VDC/1000mA) and use it with PAP2? Or is it necessary to get another (110V) adapter from linksys and use it with a 220/110 step down transformer? Thanks a lot in advance, Amit |

Vonage VoIP - Two accounts on one IP (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - I'm helping a friend set up their Vonage accounts as follows: Their ISP is Verizon DSL. Currently, I have the DSL modem piping through the Vonage router with cat5 running from the Vonage router directly to one computer. This works great (as it's supposed to) Now comes the interesting part: They want to have the internet connection available in an upstairs apartment as well as being able to connect another separate Vonage router from a separate number/account upstairs as well. |

In regards to your email, Click 2 Call does not work with international dialing at this time. Vonage VoIP - International Rates (Dec 16 2006 03:45 GMT) - I guess I should have been more specific. Because for most countries, the rates are much more expensive to call a cell phone for example. That was my main point. If you are trying to do business with people from overseas and they have limited english, its hard to ask oh so is that number a cellular or a landline phone? So that was my point. |
