Meet James Harry Moretti (Dec 29 2006 08:59 GMT) - Born today at 2:15pm GMT, James weighed in at 8lb 12oz (3.950kg). Somehow I doubt that the maternity staff at North Tyneside General hospital would ever read my blog, but a BIG thank you to everyone there that helped in the delivery of James, especially Sarah the midwife. James was a bit of a lazy git and while Gayle and I were up at 2am this morning, in hospital at 5am and Gayle was ready and waiting for his arrival from 10: |

A T-Shirt, For Me? (Dec 29 2006 08:56 GMT) - Dana Boyde posts about a common disapointment for women at tech-conferences...the T-shirts never fit us! I would love to be able to wear a conference t-shirt myself, instead of handing them all over to my husband. A while ago, I got a t-shirt from Macromedia with the Central logo on it...cut for women, yeah! |

I was looking at this example. When the page loaded, i put this into the address bar: javascript:dsPlayers. |

An Interview with Krzystof Czarnecki (Dec 29 2006 08:37 GMT) - Krzystof Czarnecki is the author of Generative Programming - a book that is 6.5 years old and yet it STILL the seminal work on application generation. I just came across an interview with him where he does a really good job of describing the abstraction gap between functional requirements and implementation requirements. This is what I was talking about recently when I tried to distinguish between functional and artifact specific metadata. Maybe his description makes more sense! |
