Your method would slow down the performance greatly for no reason _________________PlanetX Map Editor Screenshots Download the Latest Beta (Version 6) (Dec. |

NYT Security Tip - Choose Non-Microsoft Products (Jan 07 2007 23:54 GMT) - Giorgio Maone writes "The New York Times article 'Tips for Protecting the Home Computer' follows a story we recently discussed about the proliferation of botnets, and contains some statements which may sound quite unusual from mainstream press, especially if targeted to home users: 'Using a non-Windows-based PC may be one defense against these programs, known as malware ... Alternative browsers, like Firefox and Opera, may insulate users ... NoScript, a plug-in utility, can limit the ability of remote programs to run potentially damaging programs on your PC'." |

Thanks for clearing that up (Jan 07 2007 23:50 GMT) - One wonders what great controversy forced the town of Brookline to change the name of Lapland Road to Lapland Street - and how many hours of hearings town officials had to hold on the matter. Speaking of Brookline, why is it that Brookline's response to every traffic issue with a neighboring community is to build a wall between them? Oldtimers may recall when the Middle Kingdom Brookline built a wall across a road to keep out Mongol hordes Brighton residents. Now Brookline wants to wall itself off from Newton if Newton allows Yet Another Mall for the Excessively Wealthy on Rte. 9. |

FASHION TRENDS 2007: CURVES AHEAD? (Jan 07 2007 23:49 GMT) - Waifs may be increasingly unwelcome on fashion runwaysBy Clifford Pugh, Houston Chronicle When Jean Paul Gaultier presented his 30th anniversary collection in Paris last fall, he sent out a zaftig model in a skimpy black peignoir and garters. The audience wasn't sure how to react. Was the veteran designer supporting full-figured women by featuring the size-20 model? (Highly unlikely, since the rest of his show featured stick-figure models, and he doesn't design a plus-size line.) Or was he simply poking fun at efforts to ban skeletal models from the runway? |
