Vonage - Configuration question with router (Jan 31 2007 05:55 GMT) - Ouch, I should have remembered that. But are we talking about the internet light or the ethernet light? It's the internet light that should indicate the connection speed to your router, if it's set up the way you indicated above. I'd check the router settings. Maybe something is set to limit the speed to 10. |

Vonage - Satalitte Internet Providers and Vonage (Jan 31 2007 05:55 GMT) - I doubt that Vonage (or any other voip provider) will work well over a satellite Internet connection. There is too much latency on satellite Internet connections -- you send something, and it's a half second or more before it's received on the other end, as opposed to milliseconds with terrestrial connections (cable, DSL). The signal has to travel a long distance. I do know that most Internet games don't work well over satellite Internet connections, and voip is pretty similar in needing low-latency connections. |

Vonage - i need a good two line phone (Jan 31 2007 05:55 GMT) - I agree with Steve. Get a standard Vonage adapter (the VWR is really good -- very small), and then use any two-line phone of your choice. If you get an integrated unit, if the Vonage part of things fails, you can't use your phone, and if the phone part of things fails, you still can't use your phone. We have the Uniden two-line phone (cordless), which replaced a very old Siemens Gigaset two-line phone (also cordless). I can highly recommend the Uniden. |

BRANDON is lost. Lose 3 days. (Jan 31 2007 05:50 GMT) - After traveling for a year, I am no longer a Colorado resident, so I don't qualify for in-state tuition. When I found that out, I decided to drop all my classes. When I'm a resident again, I'll go back to school. I'm working at Gertrude's Restaurant in Old Colorado City, and Brandon is working at Papa John's Pizza on West Uintah. We are both gainfully employed. |
