- I would think it would be easier and clearer to use and FDF file to update the fields. One just creates an FDF on the fly, like the following, and opens the FDF file. Acrobat/Reader will match the FDF information to the named PDF and fields. It works in all versions 4.0 and above. |

- I deliberately creating my PDF’s to be read only, I am filling out the form on customers behalf. I am aware the company name and number do not appear in Acrobat version 5 and below. (I tell customers to upgrade if I detect that their version is too low!) I use Adobe Acrobat 6 Pro to create the PDF. I deliberately make the form non-linearized, I found it easier to edit this way. |
