Swiss Army shades -- multiplier sunglasses (Feb 12 2007 23:56 GMT) - Cory Doctorow: These multi-function Swiss Army-shades from Not-So-Bright Sunwear must be a hoax -- I refuse to believe that anyone is manufacturing a pair of suglasses with an integrated drinking straw and back-scratcher. Tours: The Shins (Feb 12 2007 23:55 GMT) - The Shins have announced more dates in support of their new album, Wincing the Night Away. The album earned kudos from our reviewer who described it: They bring a hint of nostalgia and classic songwriting with oodles of fantastic melody to a new age where indie rock bands get major billing on major labels and movie soundtracks can rocket your next release to number two on the Billboard charts. [...] This is a fine, fine album. |

Recycling Profits - is green the next big thing? [Alex Bellinger] (Feb 12 2007 23:52 GMT) - Green business has always been going to be the next big thing, but has its time now come as scientists predict cataclysmic climate change? I've just talked to a couple of people on SmallBizPod who should know: Hugh Smith from London Remade which has substantial grants for businesses that are going green and a fascinating chat with social entrepreneur, Colin Crooks, from Greenworks. Lots of us here run online businesses, but how many of us run carbon neutral computers? Have you got a business idea with an eye on the green pound or will every pound be a green pound before the decade's out? |
