- Last week I highlighted a couple pieces of polling that seemed to upend a chunk of conventional wisdom; apparently, a fairly large segment of the Republican base wants to end the war in Iraq despite a clear reluctance of their party's leaders to demand accountability, let alone work towards bringing a close to US military involvement in the country. Today brings yet more evidence, this time from Gallup, of this noticeable split within the GOP. Gallup asked in an open-ended question, "If you could talk with President Bush for fifteen minutes about the situation in Iraq, what would you, personally, advise him to do?" Respondents answers were grouped into a number of categories. |
