ANOTHER ONE OF THE GREATS PASSES: (Aug 16 2007 23:40 GMT) - Jazz Master Max Roach Dies at 83 (LARRY McSHANE, 8/16/07, AP) Max Roach, the master percussionist whose rhythmic innovations and improvisations defined bebop jazz during a wide-ranging career where he collaborated with artists from Duke Ellington to rapper Fab Five Freddy, has died after a long illness. He was 83. The self-taught musical prodigy died Wednesday night at an undisclosed hospital in Manhattan, said Cem Kurosman, spokesman for Blue Note Records, one of Roach's labels. No additional details were available, he said Thursday. Facebook's Achilles Heel: Handling Multiple Social Contexts (Aug 16 2007 23:36 GMT) - How social networks handle multiple social contexts (e.g. my work life versus my personal life) has been on my mind this week. Today I was in a meeting where someone mentioned that most of the people he knows have profiles on both MySpace and Facebook because their real friends are on MySpace while their work friends are on Facebook.
