Zürich?s students get rid of ?Windows Tax? (Sep 08 2007 08:52 GMT) - Zürich?s two big universities (ETH and UZH) have a joint laptop discount program for all of their students and staff. Starting this fall, you can get these laptops without Windows, giving you a price reduction of ~76 Euro. This was made possible by a student?s organisation at the ETH. |

The future of teaching ethics in the biological sciences, University of Leeds, Leeds, Thursday 13th September 2007 (Sep 08 2007 08:49 GMT) - This interactive one-day event will provide a stimulating opportunity to consider the way forward on the teaching of ethics to students across the biological sciences. Representatives from different areas of the biological sciences will come together with ethicists to debate the issues and share best practice. Getting started in Educational Research in the Sciences, University of Salford, Manchester, Thursday 11th October 2007 (Sep 08 2007 08:49 GMT) - This repeat event is based on the very popular day at Oxford Brookes University 1st May 2007. The one day event is aimed at staff from bioscience and other science disciplines who are interested in developing their teaching activities with a view to research leading to publication. The day will provide attendees with an opportunity to consider educational (pedagogic) research in a scientific context and how this relates to their own practice. The programme will include a mixture of presentations and provide opportunities for discussion as well as a swapshop element. |
