- Dear friends, I just want to advise you that the American author Richard Ellis from New York City advised me in a recent email that his new book on tuna fishing with be release shortly the book will be titled "Tuna A love story" it features a picture of a bluefin tuna vertically and the authors name below. The cover looks really good. Richard came to Port LIncoln during our summer tuna season and talked to many people he then came up to Ceduna and went flying. I am really looking forward to this new publication as Richard is a very talented writer and illustrator of marine life his subjects include the great white sharks & whales. - About a month ago we had a visit of teachers & students from the tuna fishing town of Muroto, it was the fifteenth year of exchange. My wife Robyn was on the first one all those years ago where she stayed with Asako Higoshino. Well Asako returned to Port Lincoln for about the fifth time and stayed with me she also had her friend Yoko visit. - Well at last the film "Tuna Wranglers" have hit the television screens across the United States. I had a couple of emails from friends who have seen the new documentary that was filmed by a New Zealand film crew here in Port Lincoln. They went out on the tuna boats at sea in the Bight and with us in the Cessna 337 out of Ceduna. The footage is excellent and it tells the story of the Australian tuna fishermen divers and us spotters working the Southern Bluefin tuna season last summer. If you get a chance to see it on National Geographic channel we hope you enojy the adventures. |
