a complete program to read pdf bookmark name (Feb 01 2008 03:55 GMT) - The only version of Acrobat Professional that can be purchased at the moment is version 8. I think that it would be possible to write such a program using Visual Basic, which may also need to run JavaScript. You could not rename files from inside Acrobat. I don't think it is likely anyone will write you a 'complete program'. We may be able to help you as you learn how to wri ... |

Help populating checkbox (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - Thanks for the reply. The observation about the form knowing how it will be stored and read was key. I had one of my test cases with the right value but it still did not display. That, in turn lead me to observe another difference. The input I was using: |

Expanding Textfield in Adobe LiveCycle Designer (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - I've got an urgent problem with Adobe LiveCycle Designer and I really could use some help. The problem is that I'm trying to get my textfield expandable, but whatever I try, it's not working. What I'm trying to get done is that you can fill in a textfield, and when there is more text than the size of the field, the textfield expands to make the text fit in the field. I tried a whole lot ... |

Re: Help populating checkbox (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - The typical way to debug FDFs filling form data is to fill the form manually and then to export the FDF. The form (and Acrobat) know best how the FDF should look like. You might also look at the description of the FDF in the Portable Document Format Reference. In short, you set the export value of the check box/radio button, as it has been specifie ... |

Help populating checkbox (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - All, I am having trouble populating a checkbox using FDF into a PDF form. I am attempting to load a populated form based on data in a database. I can fill in text fields no problem but cannot get a checkbox to show up checked. I have tried multiple values and none seem to work. I have included a sample below. |

Form Field Question (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - I am a long time user of Acrobat but new to producing forms. These are the options for form fields -- visible, hidden, visible but doesn't print, and hidden but printable. None of these options seems to provide what I would like to get -- visible form fields which do not print, while the content of the fields do print. I am using Acrobat 8 on a Macintosh iMac running OS 10.5. |

Editable Text in a PDF (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - The Adobe Acrobat product is not a doucment authoring program. It can support creating forms with multiple line text fields. You will also need to know if any users are using Adobe Reader as this product requries specially prepared PDFs so the PDF can be saved once by Adobe Reader. You should be aware that 'Text Boxes' are not form fields and not PDF text but a type of comment or annota ... |

Editable Text in a PDF (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - I am looking to do a project to produce interactive PDFs that a user can download on to their desktop and edit. Making a text box so the user can add text is relatively simple. However, we also need to have text already on the page that the user can manipulate (Edit, delete, change). I know I can just type text in a text box, and that would ... |

Re: Remove All Tooltips (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - ] Is there any way one can (programatically?) remove all Tool tips ] from an Acrobat 8 Form (not through Lifecycle)? In a PDF form, this is indeed pretty easy to accomplish. You loop through the fields of the form and set the userName property of each field to the empty string. In practice, this would look like this: |

Re: auto size not working properly (Feb 01 2008 03:54 GMT) - I have been able to reproduce this bug. It occurs when the text of the field is set to be centered or right- aligned. When it is right-aligned, it is not possible at all to enter spaces, when it is centered, spaces are no longer honored when the text hits the border. When the field is set to be left-aligned, the spaces are accepted. Therefore, t ... |
