Fighting Australian Crayfish Do Not Forget The Face Of Foes (Feb 29 2008 19:00 GMT) - The fighting Australian crayfish (yabby) does not forget the face of its foes according to zoologists. In the study, after a fight, the loser yabby was isolated and given a choice between its opponent and another crayfish not involved in the fight. The loser yabby moved towards the opponent it knew as opposed to the rival it did not, revealing that a yabby is capable of visual identity not just an acute sense of smell. Joystiq interview: Crystal Dynamics' Lindstrom talks Tomb Raider: Underworld (Feb 29 2008 19:00 GMT) - Filed under: PC, Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Action, Interviews There are not many developers who can boast having given rise to both a vampiric anti-hero and an anthropomorphic lizard, but over the last three years San Francisco-based developer Crystal Dynamics has become more well known as the studio that single-handedly breathed new life into the dying franchise that was Tomb Raider and its top-heavy icon Lara Croft. 2006's Tomb Raider: Legend took the series that Core Design had unceremoniously driven into the ground and reminded us all why we fell in love with the franchise a decade prior. And for those still left unconvinced, Crystal Dynamics revisited the 1996 original a year later with Tomb Raider: |

Pownce finally unveils full API (Feb 29 2008 19:00 GMT) - Filed under: Windows, Macintosh, Blogging, iPhone, web 2.0After a long invite-only beta, and a recent general-public release, Pownce has finally released their full-blown API that allows 3rd-party applications to post to the Pownce service. Back in our initial run-down of Pownce, the lack of a complete API was one of our major criticisms of the initial launch, and the basic Pownce API that's been around for a fair while merely allowed 'reading' of API data, not the 'posting' of updates. This meant you had to use either the mobile or Pownce websites, or the Adobe Integrated Runtime application, which some of us are less than fond of. |
