Canon Rebel XSi release date pushed back? - engadget.com (Apr 14 2008 04:34 GMT) - Filed under: Digital Cameras After seeing that spy shot and the Amazon link with an April release date, it seemed like Canon's Rebel XSi was bound to drop any moment, but now that may not be the case. According to the latest info plastered up at the online-retailer, you won't be able to get your hands on the new DSLR until June 15th, which is basically a lifetime if you've been waiting on this. It could just be a minor mixup, but frankly we're not holding our breath.Update: |

Take the little-known Hop-On Inc., for example. While other folks were busy churning out the next iPhone killers elsewhere in CTIA, this little company introduced a concept for disposable cellphones, which will cost you only 13 euros, or about $20 US a piece. |

Rainbow Dice Shape Lamp - coolest-gadgets.com (Apr 14 2008 04:34 GMT) - Go pimpin’ on the roads with the Rainbow Dice Shape Lamp that goes one up on those fuzzy dice that gangsta rappers love to parade in their rides. While theirs only look phat during the day, introducing a little bit of geek power into your vehicle with the Rainbow Dice Shape Lamp. This little dice that could glows randomly with up to seven different colors. No idea if a $19 investment will help you draw in the ladies at the nightclub though - I presume the stature of the ride is of more importance compared to the decorations inside. |

Personal Locator Beacon - coolest-gadgets.com (Apr 14 2008 04:34 GMT) - The Personal Locator Beacon is one interesting gizmo as it targets those who tend to live life to the extreme, going about their duties with a variety of outdoor activities such as four-wheel driving, boating, camping, off-road motorcycling and even snowmobiling. Unfortunately, such activity is often accompanied by a wider range of risks, including breaking a random body part, getting bitten by an animal such as a snake, or being in a position where it is nigh impossible to get out of without some external help. This is where the Personal Locator Beacon comes in as it is capable of transmitting your current location (in GPS coordinates, of course) on internationally recognized distress frequencies monitored by companies such as NOAA (Nation... |

Paro the $5000 Therapeutic Seal Now Available in America [Medicine] - gizmodo.com (Apr 14 2008 04:34 GMT) - Paro, the Japanese robotic therapy seal is now available in the US. Paro is a medical device developed by folks who have built therapy robots for years, and they say this robo-companionship can relieve some of the symptoms associated with long-term illness and even Alzheimer's. Why a seal, and not a cat or dog? Because people don't have stereotypes about seals and wouldn't question how real it felt. We're all for a gadget that helps a sick person feel better, but we don't know if you should let your demented aunt Fanny spend too much time with a robot seal. |

Mileage with different Quadzilla products (Apr 14 2008 04:33 GMT) - I have heard of some people with good reviews of the Quadzilla products. I am looking for something that can give me good mileage on a setting and then give me extreme power on other settings. I currently have a edge attitude with juice. I am satisfied with the power, but I haven't seen any mileage increase, even driving normally. I am not looking for miracles of 30 mpg, but an increase would be nice with current diesel prices. |

Fed Considers Unconventional Measures (Apr 14 2008 04:33 GMT) - During the Great Deflation Scare of 2002 -- you remember, the brief interlude between the collapse of the stock market bubble and the rise of the housing bubble -- researchers at the Fed authored a series of papers exploring "unconventional measures". These studies and other musings were reported in speeches by Bernanke and papers published on various regional Fed web sites (in an earlier piece,, I identified 14 such papers and speeches). These so-called "unconventional" measures consisted of the outright monetization of assets[...] |
