FCC May Regulate Cellphone Early Termination Fees [Cellphones] - gizmodo.com (May 22 2008 07:51 GMT) - The FCC might be getting up in cellphone providers' collective grill, telling them what they can and cannot charge to customers who quit their service early. A proposal to them outlines some changes consumers want enacted, including free termination up to 30 days after signing a contract or 10 days after the first bill and pro-rating the $175+ fee depending on how many months you've been with the service (some do already). Sony HT-IS100 Home Theater System - ubergizmo.com (May 22 2008 07:51 GMT) - Sony's new HT-IS100 home theater system will come accompanied by five golf ball-sized speakers, but apparently speakers this size has been around for a fair bit of time already so there really isn't much new to see over here. What we have though, is the 5.1-channels it offers along with a three HDMI input system for high definition buffs. The Sony HT-IS100 will be released on July 15th in japan, retailing for $870 for the entire set. I suppose being that small in size, it would be easy to set up a discreet home theater system right smack in the middle of the living room. |

This plan will be open to all customers who will be picking up a device or those who made a purchase no more than 30 days ago. Other than the $5 monthly fee, you will hav to fork out another $50 for majority of AT&T handsets on offer, while expensive smartphones and PDAs will cost an additional $125. Forget about the iPhone being covered though, since these are made out of adamantium. |
