Visiting ImageFitters

(Aug 24 2008 17:07 GMT)
A few weeks ago the Trib ran an article about ImageFitters, focusing on the recent employee purchase of the business when the owners decided to sell it and move out of state. I stopped by to visit the shop and was impressed by the good cheer that seemed to be everywhere. Some nifty gear, [...]

Chilly Snap

(Aug 23 2008 23:08 GMT)
How many of you enjoyed the much-cooler temps the last couple of days? How many of you actually turned on your heat for at least a few hours? But for any of you who shiver when the temps drop below 70 degrees, just remember: it could have been worse. Remember - snow in August [...

(Aug 23 2008 18:07 GMT)
Several weeks ago I posted about a small book from 1986 titled “What To Do On A Boring Day In Great Falls.” Here’s an excerpt about our city’

(Aug 22 2008 06:21 GMT)
If you’re a fan of Hannah Montana (or more correctly, if your child is a fan) you might enjoy the outdoor movie at Peres Food Basket tonight (Friday):

Rachael Hayes - Missing

(Aug 21 2008 16:26 GMT)
I saw this flyer posted in the window at Walgreens on 10th Avenue South. It states that Rachael Hayes has been missing since August 8; she is 4′11”, 95 pounds, 14 years old, last seen near Benefis East in the company of Colton Custer.

Ribbon In The Sky

(Aug 21 2008 06:06 GMT)
Anybody else catch the way-cool rainbow (double, actually) SE of town this evening? Here’s the shot from the parking lot of Good Time Charlie’s:

School Sites

(Aug 20 2008 08:08 GMT)
Almost time for back to school! Remember this great commercial? If you’re looking for school information, here’s a handy list of links to some of the school websites:

Taking A Break

(Aug 18 2008 20:44 GMT)
Watched three squirrels playing in the backyard yesterday - eyeing each other, giving chase, pausing to nibble, then more chasing up & down the trees and around the yard - and at one point this little fella just sorta plopped down on a branch, let his arms (paws?) hang down, and even closed his eyes [...]

Retro: Westgate Mall 1986

(Aug 18 2008 08:10 GMT)
I get a surprising number of visitors looking for information about Westgate Mall; here’s a little trip down memory lane for folks who remember Westgate Mall the way it was back in 1986: pssst! more Retro entries here!

Searching For?

(Aug 18 2008 01:09 GMT)
Sometimes I am very amused by the search terms people use that bring them here to GreaterFalls. com…here’s today’s example:

Breaking News

(Aug 16 2008 19:48 GMT)
And I mean that, almost literally. Most of you know that I recently retired from the Air Force as a healthcare administrator, and then was working as a civilian employee in much the same capacity. But after 21 years of military healthcare, I was ready for a change - something more enjoyable and in tune [...]

Under Her Wing

One of my favorite pictures - Mommy Goose protecting her baby goslings by taking them under her wing!

Electric City Power: Questions

(Aug 15 2008 23:59 GMT)
Favor: take a few minutes to visit GF Firefly and answer a few questions: So I am asking this: does the average person out there feel capable of reading a section of City Code and understanding what it says? Here is Title 5, chapter 20 of the Great Falls City Code.

Bull Market Closing

(Aug 15 2008 18:09 GMT)
Hearing reports that one of the best-known antique & collectible stores in Great Falls will be closing soon - the Bull Market is slated to close on September 30 (not confirmed yet). Sad to see it go; they have some really neat stuff, and I’ve found some cool Great Falls/Montana things there.

Truth In Advertising

(Aug 15 2008 07:01 GMT)
This “full disclosure” ad on Montana Craigslist caught my eye; here’s a little snippet of it:

Periodic Pitch

(Aug 15 2008 00:01 GMT)
Shameless plug: check out some of the Montana-themed books, DVDs, and artists in the Amazon “carousel” - click the arrows to rotate, then click on any item that catches your eye. Amazon.

Candy From Strangers

(Aug 14 2008 17:46 GMT)
Well, not strangers…rather, candy from a local business. Got the following e-mail from regular reader Walter: Keith’s Downtown Store (7 5th Street North, 452-7114) is offering a FREE HERSHEY CANDY BAR in their full-page advertisement on page 21 in the Thursday, August 14 edition of the Consumers Press.

Cindy Cieluch Update

(Aug 14 2008 07:15 GMT)
Cindy Cieluch, photographer extraordinaire, has migrated her photo blog to a new location; it now resides comfortably on her own website, rather than Blogspot (always a refreshing development, IMO). Her link in the Great Falls Blogroll has been updated; if you maintain your own linkage, be sure to make the change. Good job, Cindy!
