I'm just going to sulk forever (Jul 07 2008 13:31 GMT)
And O2 is duly sold out of iPhones, and I don't have one. I might be able to queue on Friday, but I don't want to queue on Friday, I have better things to do. (and for anyone who suggests I should just wait; because of the 'free you from your existing contract' deal, if I'm ever to buy a 3G iPhone, 11 July is the day to do it; it minimises my contract end date at no additional cost).
Like one of Pavlov's dogs really (Jul 07 2008 08:33 GMT)
Dear O2If you send every iPhone customer in the country a txt saying 'upgrade now and we'll deliver your new iPhone on Friday, might run out though, first come first served' then you had better make sure your online upgrade site is ready to handle the load. No love (and possibly no iPhone...)Me.
20" G4 iMacs (Jun 29 2008 12:32 GMT)
This is a query for Macophiles really. Marianne is finding her 15" G4 iMac to be a bit slow and underpowered for her needs. (The first Mac I ever owned! If I sell it on eBay, I will include my unpacking shot.) I suggested we might consider buying her a new computer, and she was most disparaging about the current line of iMacs, or even the previous line of G5 iMacs.
Greek Theatre Players: the Tempest (Jun 20 2008 08:29 GMT)
For those in or near Walthamstow: Despite the waveform not collapsing on the weather, we are planning to go and see the Greek Theatre Players tonight, at the open air Greek Theatre at Walthamstow School for Girls. They're doing The Tempest this year. Weather is lovely at the moment, forecast is for showers (MetCheck) or light rain (BBC) but I'm not sure I believe it and besides, none of the other days that the play is on look any better. Last time we went we had a really splendid night;
GIP (Jun 15 2008 21:43 GMT)
Best. Facepaint. Ever. So, there I was, stuck in the kids area for hours on end, formulating a plan. I elbowed about 1000 crying children out of the way, and showed the facepainters a photo of a t-shirt that I'd taken around the field, and explained that to get the proper effect, you needed blue and purple rather than just blue (the proper effect is here but they haven't sold t-shirts with that exact design for years and I didn't see anyone wearing one this year).
OK, that'll do me (Jun 10 2008 08:46 GMT)
O2 are once again allowing existing customers to abandon the last months of their current contract and switch to the new iPhone. With a new 18 month contract (but in practice my previous "18 month" contract will have been about nine months.) http://www. o2.
Kill Dem Catnip Mousies (Jun 03 2008 12:55 GMT)
Hello, frostfox, I have Culpeper catnip mousies for His Royal Highness. Though actually I got one mouse and one fish, for variety. I hope the mousiness of teh mousies was not critical. Kept looking behind me on way back to the office in case alley cats were about to attack my bag in search of drugs. Culpeper is Not What it Once Was.
The Telectroscope (May 21 2008 20:30 GMT)
So, the transatlantic tunnel is pretty cool, right? What I think is that sometime between now and June, we should arrange a date when, syncronising our chronowotsits, we get London fans to hang around at the London end of the tunnel at the same time as Brooklyn* fans hang around at the Brooklyn end of the tunnel. Then we could wave at each other through the tunnel using the marvels of science. Cool or what?*or nearbyAlso, I'm still sick.
The Unicorn and the Wasp (May 18 2008 15:11 GMT)
So, Doctor Who. surliminal loved it. I think. M is now planning to read some Agatha Christie (suggestions as to where she should start welcome). I thought it was very silly indeed, though on reflection it was very cleverly constructed.
Vote (May 01 2008 08:18 GMT)
I know everyone is saying this today, but please vote. In London, or for the local elections -- or I guess elsewhere in the world if there are elections going on today. Please make your choice based on who has the best policies (you might like votematch.co.uk ), and who you think is most likely to be able to run things. |
