Preparing for the Apple iPhone 3G (May 12 2008 08:00 GMT)
The new Apple iPhone (expected to be here June 9th) addresses a number of shortcomings the 1st gen product had and will likely be much more popular as a result. It is expected to be less expensive, have much better wireless performance, and work much better with corporate email systems. I feel sorry for my IT friends who think they can keep this version off their networks because I’m afraid that won’t work this time.
Alienware Area-51 m15x (May 12 2008 04:18 GMT)
Alienware is a company that needs no introduction when it comes to gaming notebooks. The interstellar PC builder has been able to consistently raise the bar in the portable gaming space over and over, and with the Area-51 m15x it’s done it once again. Though the machine’s not without flaws, the m15x is almost the perfect gaming notebook due to its performance, tolerable size and killer features.

Etymotic hf2 (May 08 2008 23:01 GMT)
Etymotic's hf2 is a redesign of the company's hyper-accurate ER4P in-ear headphones, adding iPhone compatibility via an inline mic and call button. At $179 USD, the hf2 aims squarely at iPhone owners who are audio purists and favor 256Kbps or higher MP3s or Apple Lossless files. If you’re outside that listening group, you’re better off checking out cheaper headsets from Shure or V-Moda.
Micro GPS Mail Logger (May 08 2008 08:00 GMT)
When you’re a kid, dropping a letter in the mailbox knowing that it will end up across the country or across the world in a matter of days feels almost like magic – it’s hard to even comprehend how those men in blue do it. Of course, with age and experience comes wisdom, and with it, a little bit of bitterness as well.
Canon EOS Rebel XSi (May 07 2008 01:41 GMT)
Like the price of a barrel of oil, the megapixel count of D-SLRs continues to climb. When Canon and others first unveiled popularly-priced digital single lens reflex cameras, 6MP was the resolution spec, and everyone was thrilled. Today, 6-megapixel cameras of any type are practically ancient history. In fact, most new D-SLRs such as the Nikon D60, Pentax K200D or Sony DSLR-A200 kick off at 10MP with 14s becoming much more prevalent in 2008, such as the recent Editor’s Choice-earning Sony DSLR–
Archos 705 WiFi 160GB (May 05 2008 20:32 GMT)
The gargantuan Archos 705 WiFi's attention-grabbing features include a 7-inch touchscreen, 160GB hard drive, integrated WiFi and digital video recorder functionality. What’s more, because of its size, the device often gets compared to an ultra-portable PC, only minus the productivity features and processing speed that would make it truly deserve such categorization. But remember: Archos's goal –
How Google Plans to Kill Microsoft (May 05 2008 08:00 GMT)
We may never know if Google tricked Microsoft into going after Yahoo or not (it is my belief they did) but they sure love the drama. Think about it, in effect their two biggest competitors are currently focused on each other rather than on Google and this leaves Google free to move against both. Google’s strategy long term is simple: They want to own the online advertising revenue stream (and they currently have about 70% so you could argue they are basically there today) and they want to cripple Microsoft. |
